I bought my first Squier for $299. I bought my last two Fenders, a red and an orange, for $350 each in the fall of 2014 from Sam Ash. The most I've paid for any, of the nine, is $500.robroe wrote:lol i never saw a super sonic for 350 in my life
squier or fender
A Whole Bunch of Guitars. Some with sparkles. Some with Pearl. Some with racing stripes.

I saw them; this happened for sure. It was a blow out on the PS Super Sonics in like 2014. The orange sparkle stuff. I don't think they sold well and were marked down by like 50% after being discontinued. The Super Sonics then sold out in about a month.robroe wrote:lol i never saw a super sonic for 350 in my life

at that price they're very temping. I might impulse buy one at lunch one day.BearBoy wrote:According to a bloke on OSG (who had early info re the VM offsets and Squire VIs etc):
They're MIM and are $449. There's also MIM hardtailed Mustangs with different pickup configurations for $449. And a MIM Mustang bass with a PBass Special pickup config for $549.
Guitars:
2014 American Deluxe Stratocaster
2013 Gibson SG 61RI
1998 Paul Reed Smith CE22

the pic was apparently from another forum, but it's not there anymore.
It's a '90s Mexican or Chinese Duo Sonic body, but in any case repainted and with a mint replacement 'guard and different neck, and it looks like the new model except for the slanted bridge pickup, rosewood fretboard and different bridge.
Oh hey
I still have this guitar!!
It's a '65 B short scale neck, not sure what guitar from originally as it has been painted orange on the headstock with a duo sonic II decal.
The neck is wonderful, I swapped the pickups for lace sensors, and have been meaning to refin as I'm not into the orange anymore

I am into the entire concept and price but am disappointed in the fretboard/color lockdown. It's impossible to get a standard Duo-Sonic with a rosewood board I need to have the humbucker version. Same with the Mustang...I have to go with a P-90 to get rosewood. I like the maple board body colors a bit better too. I just wish that I wasn't locked into a non-traditional pickup choice because I want a rosewood board.

This actually irritates me more the more I think about it. Mustangs historically have been rosewood fingerboard instruments. I could understand doing the Duo-Sonic as a maple board and the Mustang as a rosewood board (even though in this case they are the same thing pretty much) but to have no single coil options with a rosewood board is just crazy.

I can't wait until more info comes out on these. I really want both the orange duo and the olive green duo II (refuse to call them mustangs).
I haven't had GAS for a long time, but the idea of a Duo Sonic II with a modern radius and frets got me frothing at the mouth.
I'll get that Olive one and then I'll add proper slide switches and a Duo Sonic II decal. Probably try to find a toronado bridge or something more similar to the original duo bridges, of course without the archaic 3 saddle (I like intonation)

I could warm up to the white P-90 version. I thought I saw someone post a release date but now I see nothing. Was it October? I have the urge to throw one of these bridges on one.
