New pedalboard Setup (New pedals)

Post by Gabriel »

Recently I've been overhauling my rig a lot. I decided I wanted to move from the Pedaltrain mini to a Jr. I was also unhappy with the low gain sounds my rig was producing, so after a lot of searching around I decided upon a JRAD Archer Klon clone. I was also running my old power supply way over capacity so upgraded to a Voodoo Labs PP2+.

New pedals are the JRAD and the Ernie Ball VP Jr.

Very nice, and very neat too. After all your gear changes do you think you're getting close to what you;re looking for? How is the new amp with your archtop?

I'm really happy with this setup. I also love how the little £20 Nux is nestled up to a couple of Strymon pedals and build quality aside is totally holding it's own! The archtop sounds amazing through this rig, the klon is really great for sitting on the edge of breakup, so I can still retain enough clarity for faster lines and chords.

I spent a bunch of time on youtube listening to demos. The Archer is the one that sounded best to my ears. But there are plenty of options, so just try and find one you like the sound of best. The JHS modded Soul Food sounds amazing too, even the stock Soul Food sounds good.

Good to hear the Nux is holding its own. Saw those going dirt cheap, might try one based on your opinion Gabe.

Cool board.

MOD CORE

Quite a few different Nux pedals going cheap on the bay. Tempted to try for the Chorus for £16 shipped.

Great rig matey, what's your Verdict on the archer and the mod core? I've sold a shit load of stuff to the point that I have just a SL Drive, Wah, Tubescreamer & Ocavio in the pedal drawer.

Think of the archer after my SL drive as a slight broken up boost. And the mod core sound like a great Swiss Army knife of sounds I miss. What's the Leslie and vibe sounds like?
