must be able to take an expression pedal. think i've narrowed it down to these 3. all boast the original photocell circuit mojo (except the dls, but it has nice extra tweakability) and all sound pretty great.

keeley java boost (germanium treble boost) > boss tu2 > ehx pitchfork >fulltone deja vibe > klone > maxon ad900 > super spring theory
it's more about needing to darken my guitar tone a bit, it doesnt like my jangly tones so much. the treble booster is also noisy with it (separate psus etc)
yeah, that's much better, cheers. usually the germanium treble booster has to go first otherwise it causes a fuss but they seem to get along fine together.
this pedal is great fun. i'm still working it out but so far it's easy to dial in good, musical sounds but things can get too swooshy and hendrixy very quickly at higher intensities, particularly on chords, so the temptation is to get caught up in blasting out slow trower-esque blues chops rather than use it constructively for my own material. while the chorus mode is what we all know and love it for, the vibrato function is also really good when dialed back to add some extra depth to arpeggios and chords. i like how all settings blend and works with the tone you already have rather than add a layer of glassy digital oiliness over the top (like most modulation pedals ive used in the past). also has a very low noise floor, no doubt on account of the 18 volts.
