Do you get any sound through the unit at the moment?

A pic on this page in Greek shows you which way round they should be installed. If you decide to try it yourself remember, these are very sensitive to any static charge and you need to make sure you are resting bare flesh on the case while handling the ICs.
Thanks for the link. I won't be able to check it as I don't currently have it with me now, but I will test it again next week.

Update:

opened the back of my pedal and found that three wires are detached form the board. I don't have enough confidence in my soldering skills to attempt to reattach them myself, so I'm sending my pedal to Fxdoctor. Going to ship it out today and hopefully will have positive news in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry, for my delay in responding, but I haven't shipped it off yet. With Christmas, birthdays and taxes I decided to hold off. Now I can't decide if it's worth investing any more money into it. I've already spent around $40.00 on it. Will cost around $50.00 to send it to fxdoctor for evaluation and repair costs may drive that up to $100-150.00. Maybe, I should just buy one of those DIY pedal kits and load it into my box?

It's a shame I'm the wrong side of the water. I'd look at it but shipping and hassle with Customs...

Question: What AC~DC Adaptor should I use with my Electro-Harmonix Pedal?
AC approximating DC sounds like a bad idea tbh

NickS,

How did you do that? I tried and tried, but couldn't get it to do that.

Thanks,

Received this email from Fxdoctor today:

Good morning, I'm just following up regarding your pedal. I attached the broken wires and it looks like the SAD1024 chip that controls the chorus/delay is broken. The flanger SAD1024 does work so that function can still be used. If you'd like to track down a replacement you're welcome to, otherwise I have one in my personal collection that I can sell for $100.

Sounds encouraging, you said you had a couple of chips you bought before?

I'm not sure that they're correct or that they work now. I 'll dig them out Monday and post the numbers.

Thanks,

NickS,

these are what I found in my collection:

1. MN4013B
4D

2. PB742/
CD4049CN
MM5649AN

3. BB125
CD40538CN
MM56538N

4. NE571N KB428
S

Are any of these cognates or replacement equivalents for the SAD1024?

Thanks,
Disciple of Pain

No, I'm afraid not. Those are logic and switch chips. There is no direct equivalent for the SAD1024, which is a bucket-brigade-delay chip. There are various projects to replace the SAD1024 by another type such as the MN3207 but this requires the pedal to be modified, it's not a drop-in replacement. The $100 is about the going price for old stock; if you check eBay someone has some at $75 right now.

NickS,

thanks for the reply. I'm going to send the good doctor some more of my money.

Thanks again,
