NGD YEP, ANOTHER YAMAHA REVSTAR.....

Post by Rox »

Haven't had enough time for a review yet but of what I noodled it by far plays better than any Les Paul I've ever set my fingers on. It's the RS820cr model. I wish I could find a RSP20cr but they're like my unicorn right now. Too new to the market.

Not to mention much sexier than the pic suggests. More to come....

Congrats! Is one a bucker and the other a P90?

Lovely pair in the slickest of finishes!

Revstars collectively seem to bleed evidence of the most thought-out designs (both function and overall ergonomics included, so very refined in a Japanese sort of way) in a very long time. I sincerely hope they prove themselves well, eventually flood the world, and become commonplace enough to find for even more decent prices on the used market.

Yes. The cheaper rs502 with the p90s I think sounds a little better. But the feel and the balance is unlike any on these . Yamaha nailed it. These guitars aresonate a culmination of Yamaha's electric guitars from the SGs to the Superfighters to the SA-15 headstock and then added anew EQ chip which is the dry switch . It's most evident on the p90 version. It goes from p90 les paulish to a Tele to a Mustang neck pickup.

What Noirie is looking at is the RS620. And the prettier one. It's a lot like my RS820 but different finish, inlays and bridge.
These humbuckers are super pretty . But before you drop the money play the RS502 in the black. It's cheaper and IMHO sounds slightly better. I thought I'd hate the p90 covers but the satin aluminum looks fucking sexy.

But as noted everywhere: the flat finishes on all of these are fingerprint magnets...lol
But the 820 is less susceptible. The finish is brushed and not a legit flat paint unlike the 502 ,620 and 720.
