Dunno what is under the hood, but maybe a replacement guard?

That is an odd position for the toggle switch. I'd like to see the routing under there, might be hope for it without much work.

i got to play one of these at HOG. it was ocean turq / bigsby / black shit around the pickups guard. so im playing it with out a strap or what ever ya know just kinda on my knee and the toggle was in my fucking god damn way even then. holy shit.
thing was super nice.

Someone posted a shot of one of these without the guard (at least I think it was one of these) over on and they are routed differently to vintage style Jazzmasters and so moving the switch down to where they usually are would take a fair amount of work.speedfish wrote:ultratwin wrote:Haha, toggle tried to get out of the way of Rob's arm's strumming and died before making it off the edge of the pickguard.

Or don't buy that ugly ass hacked jazzmaster when you could probably find a nice classic one for less.
Does anyone else hate these as much as me? And that fucking bigsby too? They look like shit, same with the jaguar. Why fix what isn't broken? I shouldn't be this offended by a stupid guitar lol
For real though every year fender's shit gets worse and worse, I feel like they're trying to make shit that sits in music shops forever. Over these stupid tweaks on classic designs.

The B3 on my Silvertone is comparable to the trem on the Jazzy I had for 10 years; they just really need properly lubrication (both nut and the mechanism itself).
I think the tension bar on B5s however (like the one this new Baby Jazzy So Prettye has) is what messes with the tuning, as it adds another point of potential failure or inaccuracy.
