The Bullets always seem to have very light maple wood. A nickel's worth of Kiwi can help tame that neck "glare".

Here's a before and after of mine.

Thanks! Here are a few more photos. I've now started a second one with Mustang single coils and correct slide switches.

That's how people on Strat talk treat their Bullet and Affinity necks for a while

Funny, I've used Kiwi to age plastic, but never thought to try it on a neck. How does it change the feel, if at all? That's my main dislike with those types of necks.

It doesn't change the feel that much, but if anything I typically prefer the feel after the Kiwi. These new Bullet Mustang necks feel quite good right out of the box and they feel worlds better than other Bullet Strats & Teles that I've played at GC in the past. This is the first Bullet Series Squier that I've ever bought. I've got a blue one that is due to arrive tomorrow that I'm modding for a friend. It'll be a S/S with traditional Mustang slider switches.

I walked into guitar center two weeks ago and I was stunned at the amazing selection of Squiers they had, some even looked like high-end fenders. From jaguars with Seymour Duncan pick ups, mustangs, fancy colored matching headstock strats and they only had one Jazzmaster sadly which was the J Mascis one. I wanted a Jazzmaster since well I've always loved them ever since I had my first one which was a fender Jazzmaster with a red matching headstock. I foolishly traded it for an Epiphone Sheraton, even though I like it, still liked the Jazz I trade it in for more. So I played them all and was stuck between the Jaguar and Jazzmaster Mascis. I slightly liked the Jazzmaster better, satin smooth neck and the pick ups sounded great just like my fender ones did. So I bought it, and have no regrets. It was a little pricier since it was TEH J MASCIS EDITION but I didn't really care about that or him while deciding this. I wanted a god damn Jazzmaster with good pick ups.
Here's my baby now.

doesn't the Kiwi stuff come off on your hands?

can you post the exact color you used to do it? they make like 10 shades of shoe polish

No, not at all. You put it on and wipe it off real well. I've done many and never had it come off on my hands. The odor goes away really quick too. I also like the way it makes the neck feel.
I use Brown Kiwi. It's not going to work the same on a high gloss neck but it works wonders on these.

Congrats on your new Jazzmaster. I really love the necks on the Squier Jazz Mascis. I need to take mine out for spin again soon.
