direct gui.tar rig

Post by mickie08 »

So I finally just said screw it and went all out on a direct guitar rig. eleven rack running into a tube DI into the sound board. Line 6 wireless, Sans Amp fly rig and tuner on the floor. Both acoustic and electric settings (thought I am getting a new Eastman electric in the next couple days so I need to dial that in. Our PA is a Presonus board with all powered EV speakers.

I think it is going to be a fun rig and I can get about any sound I need (though I don't use a crazy amount of stuff) and I get protools with the eleven rack. May eventually change out the flyrig, etc for a midi board if I really get into the eleven rack.

I just wanted one system for both acoustic and electric as well as being able to use both the preamp and the eleven rack for recording at home.

Be interested to hear how you find it live.

I think it will be great live. Since I play so much acoustic live I am already used to relying on monitors for my guitar sound as is my band. I also have in ear monitors as well as a pretty decent PA (Presonus digitial board and EV zLX powered speakers) so the board/PA won't hinder it. Plus I play an average 2 gigs a month as it is that I have to run direct.
