Tried it plugged in. Sounds damn good, but this Tele does anyway, and surprisingly the open strings don't go sharp.
But 8's do on the SG. Maybe it's as much down to scale/design as the strings?
Scale plus the behind bridge down-bearing angle; the latter makes more difference than you'd think, or at least more than I thought it would. The Buzzstop on my JM (plus other adjustable tailpiece'd guitars) made it feel like a different guitar for sure.
Well, I've been testing out the Ernie Ball Paradigm .009's on the Jag-Stang and Jaguar for the past few months, looks like they will stand up with the Bullets as far as durability goes. After a day or two when they finally settled, I did not have to tune either Jag for weeks (so as long as nobody bumped the tuners). Kind of awesome when you come to rehearsal and everything is in tune already.
Next up is the Mosrite copy I built, Jazzmaster, and Hondo Paul Dean II, plan to do those in the next few weeks.
