I thought a lot about buying my Squier VI (it wasn't an impluse purchase - I spent several years pondering it) but that's probably not the sort of thing you had in mind.

Freddy V-C wrote:Last "considered" purchase of mine was the Orange CR120 and WEM 2x12 cab I bought a few months ago. Never posted about it here because I wasn't really posting at all around then. About £600 all in, not expensive gear in the grand scheme of things but probably the nicest amp setup I've had, and the most I've ever spent on gear in one fell swoop. I reckon I'd been weighing up the head for about a year beforehand, the cab just came up on Ebay at the right time but I'd always been planning to buy a head and cab at the same time.

Here's the best pic I've got (taken on my phone, sorry), with the rest of my current live rig - Squier Affinity Tele (which has actually been cleaned up since then, almost looks brand new if you squint lol), Mooer Pure Octave, Fredric Effects Harmonic Percolator, Behringer tuner...

Nice... always liked the WEM grill cloth design.

i'm having trouble remembering when I bought some bits of kit and when I sold it but of what I still own now it is probably the 60s Duo Sonic I got off Nick. Before that it was the 70s Jazzmaster

Get pics, this is a frivolous oh thats nice thread to cheer up a dull January.
Word, I’ll dig some up today.

@freddy how do you like that orange? I was super interested in those since having my old silvertones rattling around in our gig vehicle is fucking killing my amps. Been having too many issues lately, been really considering solid state for gigs until I can get a case for them down the road.

I love it! I'd been wanting to buy a brand new solid state amp for a while because I'd been getting sick of the maintenance involved with owning a vintage Marshall. A couple of the other guys at our practice space use the same head (hence why I bought a black one, so at least it's obvious which is mine) so I'd played through one a few times before, mostly through my friend Chris' ENGL 4x12. Plenty of volume for gigs - a lot of the time we don't even end up mic-ing my cab, depending on the show. I'm maybe not the most discerning person in the world when it comes to "tone" but it definitely sounds exactly as I would want/expect my guitar to sound lol.

All the guitars on the recent Beige Palace demos were through the Orange head/WEM cab, if you're interested in how it sounds. Don't share it around loads though because this isn't "public" yet (re-recording in a proper studio next week): http://soundcloud.com/beigepalace/sets ... ks/s-DObDk

Prior to that, my main considered purchace would have been my EGC, which was probably about 2 years ago now. Got an old Ibanez Sabre in the between. Been buying some synths as well, but nothing particularly pricey.
Post pics of the EGC t'is a cool guitar and the point of this thread was pics of cool stuff... didn't you get a flowery 80s ibanez too?
The flowery Jem came quite a few moons ago. It was a 30th present from lady gusman

It's a Millimetric Guitars MG6 - I was going to order one of their MGS3s a couple of years ago, and I'm still a bit sad I didn't.
