I can imagine that adding mass to the end of the neck *might* cause it to vibrate less, but to a noticeable degree?

I remember reading about these fifteen years ago. I thought it was a good idea. I thought a better and less ugly way of doing it would be a plate on the back of the headstock though.

Dunno if they actually work. Magazines at the time all said "maybe" but then they were likely getting paid not to say "definitely not."
