Josh JHS is such a dude, it's a great YT channel for sure.
Saw this last night, kinda wish he'd compared all of these examples rather than a handful, given that he has an insane collection of the originals.
I'm with him on the Superfuzz, I bought one last year and fucking love it. If it had a switch for mode 1's octave-up, it'd be PERFECT

Another superfuzz fan here also.
Great video that made me want to get my guitar out as and play some pedals

I had the Superfuzz and it got drowned out at rehearsals.

Always liked the Superfuzz as well, two great modes and a useful clean boost.
Didn't realise they made a copy of the HM-2 until watching this video.

Mode 1, with low gain is the key I reckon; enough midrange and not too compressed. Fuzzes always sound better going into a slightly crunchy amp, but it's defo not a barre chord kind of fuzz for sure.

Noooo, I mean it has an 'octave fuzz' kinda vibe that I'd like to be able to turn off sometimes. Seems like these guys have done it already, might give it a look, although mad-pricey

That half-gain switch makes it look like a winner, hmm..

Bump.
Bought another Superfuzz and had a quick go before going cinema.
You can jam the fuzz in between both settings. Stays in place pretty well too. Sounds cool.

Ordered a superfuzz ΓβΓΒ£19 on Amazon - got to be a winner at that price.

Sounds EXACLTY like the HM-2. And it's PINK! Of course, when I came across a real MIJ HM-2 for ΓβΓΒ£30 quid, I picked that up, and binned off the Behringer. But that's my corksniffing cross to bear.

I had a Behringer Super Fuzz on my board for aaggeess, pretty much exclusively used the 'Boost' function though. IIRC it didn't sound much like a boost, but it was good.

Weird, I feel like it works fine as a BOOST on mine, and still uses the 2-band EQ in that mode, which is pretty handy.

Maybe mine was a dud then? Honestly from what I remember the boost setting was just a nicer sounding fuzz than either of the other settings.

Maybe your switch was busted, .. or, as it's possible to stick it in-between modes 1 and 2 for a blend like Rob mentioned, maybe you found an elusive 4th dimension there
