New shots of the Musicmaster - it's been Mustang-Ized in my usual special way, finally, my Jag-Stang has a backup. It's also a test for a passive version of the circuit I use in my Jag-Stang. Guess I should call it the "Mustang Master", lol.
Closeup
NECK: 1971 Fender Musicmaster Neck, "A" Width, 60's C Profile, has had about 20 different kinds of Tuners over the years, Ping Tuners, Harmony STring Guides
BODY: Assumably the original body, which was drilled for extra controls and through body stringing originally, figured I'd Mustang-Ize it since it's already "butchered", it's made out of some rather dry and soft Poplar
BRIDGE: Custom home-modded version of a Fender Dynamic Vibrato, uses a Jap Reissue plate, modded Squier VM pivot posts and tailbar and trem bar, with a Squier VM Mustang bridge (plans in the future to put Mustang saddles on there)
PICKUPS: Chinese pickup with similar to Mustang Specs (neck, Ceramic, 5.91K), 1980's Peavey P12 Humbucker (brdge, Ceramic, 14.87K)
WIRING: 1 Volume, 1 Tone, 3-way selector (Bridge pickup switch), Phase/Normal/Off for neck pckup (Neck pickup switch), wiring is a passive version of what is in my EMG'd Jag-Stang

It's Me
I bought it from Pat pacifeliz . I believe it's an early 70's.Noirie. wrote:Piff. What year is the Mustang?
At some point it's had a refinish and the pots were changed to Dimazio (very good lots of travel).
The pickups were changed to ceramic possible dimazio like the pots.
Since I've owned the guitar Its have a fret job, new nut and decal.
I've also swapped out the bridge for a staytrem. Changed the pickguard to an original 60's tort. Pickup covers to aged white.
Also had it re wired....
Switch closest to the neck is the pickup selector.
Switch beside bridge runs inphase/out of phase/Bass boost.
Plan to stick some nicer pups in at some point.
