My setup
Over the last couple of years I've bought and sold a load of gear in an effort to get it right down to just what I really love.
I've got rid of Jaguars and Jazzmasters, I swapped my Twin Reverb for a Deluxe Reverb and have reduced my number of pedals. I sold my original OCD and then went through a shitload of different drive pedals before buying another OCD, it's the best.
The Mustang is a MIJ 65RI with Mojo pickups and a Staytrem bridge (I prefer the slightly narrower string spacing). It's wired so the lower switch is a standard three-way (bridge, both in parallel, neck) and the upper switch selects both pickups in series. There's no option for out-of-phase but I don't miss that.
The result is that I have absolutely nothing superfluous to my needs. This is real socialism right here.

Thanks everyone, yeah I'm really satisfied at the moment although it hasn't stopped me eyeing up shit. There's currently a sunburst 1975 Mustang being advertised that's giving me the tingles
The thing is though, I reckon you have to own a lot of gear in order to learn what you like and therefore be able to cut it right down.
But yeah, I guess neat was one of the things I was after:

I've had no problems. Obviously they only make sense if they're connecting jacks that are the same height from the floor, i.e. my EHX pedals.robroe wrote:Everyone I have ever talked to talks shit about those straight double Male end 1/4 Jacks.
Have you had better experiences?
For my other connections I'm using these EBS patch cables
You mean the OD Glove? Yeah I tried it side-by-side with my OCD, it was close but lacked the OCD's smoothness, it was harsher. Which was a shame because the Glove is like half the price.dub wrote:Not tempted by the Velvet Glove? Coulda gone full EHX.
(I've been looking at OCDs recently because my amp's picky about what kind of overdrives will mesh with the preamp gain.
Probably just pure GAS on my part though, since I have some boosts that do the trick well enough)
Another vote for the 68 Deluxe Reverb Reissue (or as it's properly called, the 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb).Nick wrote:go for the deluxe. Traded my 1970 twin for a 68 DRRI years ago and never looked back. AC15's are nice, but not as much headroom as the Deluxe, the size and weight are also not that much better than the twin.plopswagon wrote:I want to trade my Twin Reverb Reissue for a Deluxe or an AC15 (or both!)
