I knew it would but that bridge sounds like arse straight after the neck

Only because the amp was set up to suit the neck pickup more (where matey spends a lot of the time); nae different to any other neck-bucker/bridge-single guitar.

They could've adjusted the pickup heights a bit to help there too, fucken 'tremolo is vibrato' newbs

My experience with that pickup setup is nil because it just seems like a silly idea. I don't imagine you could ever balance it.

It wasn't that popular. They brought it back as a $200 Squier a few years ago and nobody bought them. The Cyclone II on the other hand...

Cyclones and Toronados just arenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t that interesting on their own, plus they were devised at a time when only vintage-spec Mustangs and Jags could be had... the then-new novelty of grabbing something that vaguely looked like one of Kurt CobainÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s guitars and actually have it sound like Nirvana through some pedals and an amp was still exciting. And we *still* preferred to just buy vintage reissue guitars and spend an extra hundred bucks doing an TOM & JB.
