Got that from earlpilanz on eBay.
Yeah, maybe even still as purpley as the stock one, just with that extra detail to make it all a bit more magical.
edit: lol, so I got these from the same geezer as you

Luckily, I hit up this geezer just now, and he's selling me the stock tort off his pink Jag

It's honestly not bad, but felt like it jarred against that paleboi fretboard a bit too much. Either way, I'm a fool for wasting so much money on plastic but ehhhhh
I don't know how it will hold up but it definitely darkens it. Still a bit dry looking but I think that's the nature of Indian laurel. But will add some lemon oil on top when I get some.
Hmmm, nae sure about adding paint products to wood. Might look into a wood stain at some point, not sure how porous or "sealed" this Indian laurel is

Go on be a devil. It hasn't coated like paint would its more like a stain anyway
Stewmac used to sell stain for lightly coloured rosewood boards that got good reviews but it doesn't sell anymore. There are threads on the webs about people discussing staining Pau Ferro boards. Didn't read deep enough to have any information on what they use and how it works. As your Jag has blocks and binding it would be an extra complication I guess not to stain them, maybe mask tape them

I was wondering this too. I don't know anything about Indian laurel. It's quite oily, isn't it? I'd be tempted to go for it with an alcohol based stain, but there's the risk that it would end up patchy.
I suppose it will take some people knackering their guitars to find out the best way to do this.
This is exactly the sort of thing that, fifteen years ago, you would Lycos it and find a couple of different forums where people had tried different ways of getting the wood darker, and there would be a sticky thread for it in our projects section. The fact that you can't do that I suppose points to the wider death of forums online and a certain culture.
I was like WTF when you said £70 and then I looked back in my email and yes indeed I did pay £65.90 for a fucking guitar bridge in 2013 (pre kids)
