is there any value in soaking it in something and weighting the ends of the neck down for a ridiculous amount of time? like others who have posted, i know next to nothing about how to make any of this work and do agree that the neck is likely not worth much effort at this point... unless by some miracle there is a way.Thom wrote:It’s an inward bow, so I guess heavy strings would make it worse! I’m sure it could be salvaged, if it was clamped and heated for a while, but it’s not a great neck shape so not particularly inclined to spend any time on it tbh.
that said, i seem to recall the headstocks resembled a shortened cricket bat, so not like the aesthetic couldn't use an upgrade.

I was going to start a new build thread, but figured I might as well keep it all in one place. A bit of progress today, broke out the old Dremel router and did the neck pocket. I took my time (i.e. it took fookin' ages!), but I'm really pleased that it came out well and I didn't cock it up!
Rough mock up with the neck:
The corners of the neck heel are a bit sharp/square so I need to sand them to get it to fit properly.
Need to take a notch out of the pickquard next too. Tuners arrived this week so it's coming together.
