I bought my JB-75 a few years ago - Still can't get over how good it is... bloody heavy thoughNoirie. wrote:Lol which one?
The DC I just got and I haven't put it down. Doesn't feel like a £150 guitar at all. Same with my HB Jazz Bass.
Guess need more time with it but would say get one if you're curious.
Been considering a Dc since they came out - I don't have a p90 guitar

Woah. The thing is super hot. I always check them whenever I go to Thomann's website. I think you did the right thing quitting the pre-order of the Coronet. They are basically the same thing, HB is much cheaper, I've read/heard only good things about the quality of modern Harley Bentons. On the other hand almost all Epiphones I've played/owned were just ok at bestNoirie. wrote:
Fitting in nicely.
Is yours the standard one with a modern C neck shape or is it the one with a fat neck? I used to like a full rounded 59 profile best, but after playing a couple of modern C necks I like them as much now because I feel like Hendrix all of a sudden being able to easily wrap my average size hand around the neck all the way to the upper frets. Of course I can't play for shit, but it's an awesome feeling anyway

I know you like affinity strat necks so that’s in comparison with one. Not sure how to describe it tbh, definitely a bit heftier than my Fenders but string spacing is different too. I’ve got small hands and it’s plenty comfortable though.
I swapped it for a Duo Sonic neck. Doog of this parish has the original on his Mustang

Sorry for the late response, I've been meaning to thank you for the photo comparing the two necks but got a severe case of procrastination. I do like Affinity necks though the Affinity I have now is an oddball with a nut width at about 41.5mm, but it's overall small. At one point I had a regular Affinity, with a narrower nut, and this one. They were very comparable but this one gave me a bit more space to play cowboy chords. The regular Affinity neck was more comfortable to play in the upper positions.
HB still looks super nice. Why didn't they make them 10 years ago? All you could buy back then were either Tokais,Burnies, etc or some cheap junk for the quality of which nobody could vouch. I've always liked this Orville in sunburst

I asked him to not put too much effort into it, and to not blend it in. He cut a cut a piece of scrap wood from Home Depot to fit in there and glued with the grain going in the same direction. He did a great job.NickD wrote:Your tech did a good job with the repair on the partscaster, nice and neat.
