I have a problem with chorus in that I pretty much always want it on if it's on. What I mean is, it'll be on for the duration of a song, it'll be the basic sound throughout. And then I start thinking, well, maybe this is just my basic sound? This is how my guitar is meant to sound...? Maybe it's because of the 80s. I don't even like The Police that much, but somehow I still KINDA wanna be Andy Summers.

I've realised I can stop using chorus pedals and get the right level of effect by just never setting the intonation on my guitar and having it always slightly out of tune, though.

flathead cables are a must on a crowded pedalboard, they changed my life!

Some (badly designed) pedals with crowded connectors or funny shapes can't take them. I use them where I can, but not on the wah pedal and the SoundTank echo.

Have you ever tried grinding or filing the pancake to make them fit? I've not had to, yet, but I've read about people doing it. I suppose it makes them much more delicate, but pancake jacks are hardly the most robust option anyway.

No. I have a few Stagg patch leads with small heads so I use a couple of those.

very true! industry standards aren't all that standard, especially for some of the more creative builds.

It turns out this was the correct answer. Much, much better.

This is the first time I've ever had a chorus on my board, so I literally googled where to put it in the signal chain. The answer was a very definitive "after dirt", but it's not like I have my pedals in the correct order anyway. I've had my tuner at the end of the chain for yeeaarrs, and I almost always put delay at the start.
