No, you’re right, the nut is too narrow, but it’s what I had available. I’ve got a replacement on the way.
Pickup options for a Strat project

That's a neat idea. How does one make a decal like that?

You need a laser printer, an A4 sheet of white address labels and some sellotape.
- Design a logo. That one was done by a former member here. I don't have the file anymore which is a shame
- Take the sticky labels off the A4 sheet
- Put the A4 sheet in the printer so that it will print onto the smooth side
- When you want to use one, sellotape over the logo, rub with your finger, cut round it
- Peel off the sellotape and the logo will stay attached to it, then put it on your guitar

Thank you, man, for the thorough step by step guide. I always wondered how to make one and will used it in the future

New nut and pickup cover are fitted, just enjoying playing it now.

Looks great! How are you getting along with the volume knob?

Re: Pickup options for a Strat project
I’ve always found the volume knob positioning one of the most difficult things about playing a Strat, but I’m getting used to it and not hitting it by accident quite as much. I’ve got into bad habits regarding where my hands sit from decades of playing Les Pauls and Jazzmasters where the knobs are clear out of the way.
The pot itself is the only one left from the original electrics, but works ok for the moment.

Yes, I remember you saying you didn't like it. I don't as well, I always gradually roll it down by accidently hitting it whenever I play. I've made a pickguard with two knobs instead of three and moved the volume out of the fucking way. Whenever someone says I won't be able to do the swells I want to smash the guitar over their heads - I don't do stupid swells, I never cared for them, shove your swells up your grandma's butt.

You need to see your medical care provider about your butt swells.
