Sans drummer help

So we Sacked our drummer and have taken quite well to programmed drums instead.
Live we use a MPC to play the drum files from that goes to the PA. We were recommended to also use a bass amp on stage to help us hear the drums if the house PA/monitors wasn't up to it.
The first gig this worked well but the second one the sound on stage was awful.
I think we need something full range instead of a bass amp. It would also be helpful if the something was fairly portable. It needs to be loud enough to compete with loud guitars and bass on stage.

Also cheap, like sub 200 if possible.

Any suggestions?

Would something like a keyboard amp be a better option? Luggable and full range as they usually have a mix of speakers in them to give it some low end and some high end shine.

I saw that first one you on your first link, defo looks like it would fit the bill and at £40 it’s worth a punt. Would make a good clean guitar amp as a pedal platform as well.

Is this just for monitoring? So absolute quality, while nice, isn't really important?

If so, I'd be tempted by big keyboard and bass amps too. I realise that chucking more speakers at it probably isn't the smartest solution but fuckit, chuck more speakers at it.

In school I use these a lot both for electric kits and vocals. They also do a unpowered cab that looks identical but doesn't have the amp so you can daisy chain them. Good for onstage monitoring. I've actually used them as an impromptu PA plenty of times too, with two amp units and two cab units.

That and an extension speaker would be a decent little set up. Space them out for a bit of spread on stage.

Picked up the 40 quid Peavey from a lovely chap. It's bigger than I wanted but sounds loud. Will take to practice this week and hopefully it does the business.

Out of interest I am going to try plugging my behringer sansamp pedal into it to see how it sounds with guitar. But not expecting much.

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to hook up 2 pair of headphones to the MPC... but it would hinder your movement

I'm in a similar boat, though we use an Octatrack and a Drumbrute. Luckily my partner in that band has a PA system cobbled together, so if he's not doing sound at the gig already we can supplement equipment if needed.
