Zoom MS70CDR+
I've fancied the original for aaaages, but now it looks like Zoom are updating this range of pedals.

The original looked pretty comprehensive. I wonder how much value there is in the new one compared to the old one (particularly after hacking it)

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
I had the original and it was good, but too many options TBH. In practical terms it didn't like being too close to, or using the same power supply as the rest of my effects, so had to live off the board.
Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
I did not know about the power supply issues! I think I'm running out of isolated supplies on my Iso-brick, so that might be something I need to think about....
Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
The specs say it can run for 5-6 hours on a pair of AA rechargeables. Interesting about the problem with proximity to a PSU; this may be because of a poorly screened/filtered switch-mode PSU. One reason why most of my pedal board PSUs are heavy linear lumps.

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
Theres a good chance it may add some noise to my signal. But my ears aren't as conscious of it or it could be coming from other stuff so I am less bothered. I am not exactly playing clean a lot of the time. I couldn't do Fashion Tips without the multistomp though it's easily the best pedal I've ever owned and most fun. Even with the work arounds you have to do due to some of its limitations.i need to buy a couple spares !

As for the new one, it has peaked my interest slightly. However I will probably not bother unless it does what the original does but infinitely better. But keeping the somewhat digital sound I enjoy on the original.

Hurb, you wouldn’t happen to know if your units have a Leslie/rotary sound in them?
Whilst I love the M5, the volume drop on the Leslie patches do my head in.

Yeah it does, I can try and record something tonight to show you how it sounds? Will likely just be a phone recording though.

Although, given that you can combine different effects into one preset (or something, dunno how it works), could you add a clean boost or a compressor or something alongside the uni-vibe to tune the volume back to where you want it?

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
If I had an M9 I could make a patch that added a Leslie and a booster together but the M5 cant.
I think the zoom you can have a global output level of the whole pedal which would solve it that had a volume drop.
The M5 volume drop is very noticeable when engaged

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
Most of the M effects have an output parameter though, no?

Ah yeah, it's the Zoom I was talking about making patches on.
I'm an avid M5 + M13 user (M18????). For me, the big, fun thing with the M9/M13 is combining effects. Where the M5 is a brilliant Swiss army knife, the M13 opens up a hwhole load of paths for experimenting and making weird noises. Love it.
But, more is always better, so I find myself lusting after the Zoom. And maybe a Superego+, or Freeze, or the new Freeze thing they brought out.
Wish there was a stereo in/out Freeze.
Re: Zoom MS70CDR+
Dunno why the post is formatting that way. I've done nothing wrong.
