Aye, the Ruetz mod; definitely recommended if you're wanting to use medium gain primarily - it reduces some of the shrill, nasal quality as you reduce the distortion, but does cost you a bit of overall amount of distortion.

DS-1 arrived, sounds pretty frickin good for a design that’s been around since the late 70’s/80’s.

Time to replan the board again………..
