Baldwin/Burns Double Six

Post by NickS »

I took my Baldwin/Burns Double Six along to practice last night. The other guitarist used it for "Take It Easy" and liked it so much he used it for "Mind Eraser" and "Wherever You Will Go". He didn't play guitar at all on "Basket Case". There was a bit of scratchiness in the pickup selector so I thought I'd squirt some Servisol in it today and check the date code on the pots while I had it apart.

I've never had it apart - I think I bought it in 1977.

What's that white shit around the pickups pots? Is that dust?

I'm pretty sure it's corrosion of zinc passivation on the pot cases. I think I need to brush it off with a toothbrush while vacuuming it up.
