TUNERS

Post by gaybear »

has anyone used one of these? it looks tedius and annoying, though the idea is neat.

I prefer to tune by either ear or my intellitouch. holding that damn thing near a particular string, then strumming the string and then trying to turn the tuning peg is too much.

I vote no.

Ditto. While strobe tuners may be more accurate, fuck messing around with that shit onstage.

I have a Korg something or other, let me check.

KORG CA-30.

It's kinda shit, but I didn't pay for it. It found it's way into my gig-bag at a gig once. I didn't steal it, that's actually what happened. I wouldn't have had much use for a tuner back in them days.

That tuner looks alright to impress your 14 yr old buddy's in music class, totally impratical for stage use.
For home, i use a korg chromatic tuner, dunno/not interested what model.
Live or at rehearsal i tune to the bass player first off, and i can honestly say i hardly ever go out of tune afterwards.. in fact i'm usually still in tune the following week.
But you have to remember i am a professional kinda guy. :D

I think those little tuners are good for trips to the music store. BAM. tune that shit and rip. Actually, i hate playing instruments in music stores. i turn down so low because i don't like people looking at me.

bingo. that's what i'd use it for. we had a few come into my store once, they're pretty cool, but very impractical when put to any sort of "real" use. for around the house or at the store it's really cool... but when it comes to being live, give me either a StroboStomp or a TU-2.
Being in love, I've found, is a lot like working at a factory - eventually, you get replaced by either a foreigner or a machine...
