They sound pretty good to me. I don't own one, I've only borrowed one before, but an octave down was never useful to me.

There are the usual complaints, that you've probably already heard. Just don't expect it to be a perfect bass replacement and I'm sure you'll like it. Buzz of the Melvins uses one, among others.

I've heard they have volume drop issues but they seem pretty sound other than that.

Aen, Fran and Heavium have one, I think. One each, that is, they don't share.

Pass the bluebox on the lefthand side.

you can solve the volume drop issue with a very simple mod (removing a capacitor)...even i was able to do it, haha

i use it on guitar and bass, you can get some very yummy seventies solos out of it (playing past the twelfth fret and stuff), octavers make it sound a bit synthy, but the nice thing about the blue box is that, with extreme settings, it adds random stuff, so it's like you either love it or hate it because it can be unpredictable, plus it's not that exspensive either, just know you won't be using it aaallll the time since that might get annoying

I had to put that song on the second I typed that..

The Bluebox is 2 octave down right? Methinks one more for solo-y stuff, 2 octaves down on the bass strings low down is just gonna sound like a mess. I guess that's the point though..

Great pedal. A nasty gated fuzz with the optional octave blend effect that dials in two octaves down of erm...noise.
Apparently there was a design flaw so the blend effect does'nt track well and glitches.
Most people cut one leg of the C11 capacitor for some volume boost but there is a underlying 'ticking' noise when you do this. But lets be honest its a noise pedal so who cares about a faint ticking noise?

i just removed that c11 cap, pling, gone, it just made the pedal louder, a bit more harsh-sounding in my opinion, but i don't regret removing it, yet.

the thing that annoys me a bit is that the adapter input isn't functioning the way it should, sometimes the light goes out when it's connected to an adapter, so i have to push the adapter plug a bit, i always have a battery in therei

So is it just the LED that's not working right?
I've not heard of that problem with this mod. :? Did you take care not to accidently knock any other components, i know it is a tight circuit board to work on.

it's the adapter jack on the pedal not working the way it should, it easily disconnects from the adapter plug, it also had that problem before i did the mod, maybe i can fix it by opening the pedal and moving 'the guts' of the pedal a bit, could be just that
