What a great link. I finally get that shit now. It isn't all that tricky. I now have a pretty good idea of the woods I have. Although mine were pre-MIJ. I am assuming the patterns are still the same regardless of where it comes from.
Based on that I am thinking this is northern hard ash. And it IS heavy. Heaviest I own, and probably the purtiest. I don't know when they stopped putting in the second route--70s? But this thing only has the one lil hole.
I was mucking about in PSD to decide on transparent colors. I already have both orange and blue xparent cans, and both p-guards. But it also affects my other guitars, since they might get those colors. I am leaning toward blue. The grain has been dyed very dark.
