I might have to take you up on that one Harry, I'm sorting some shit out with the bank at the moment (they stole 40 quid off me :x ) but maybe after that's sorted.

Tasty. I've been really impressed with the 'Tape' delay on the GT-8 although it doesn't oscillate like the real thing. If this oscillates it'll be freakin' sweet.

...makes me wonder why they didn't do this sooner.

Also, what is that orange gauge above the BOSS logo for?

Mmm the weird sausage shaped thing could be a futuristic VU but I think it's probably just a piece of coloured plastic.

It might swish. The rotary one has some visual effectsin time with the rotation.

I used to play with a guitarist in a covers band that had a Boss GT-8. It was horrible. Every time he turned it on his amp sounded like plastic city. Disgusting thing.

He had a lovely old JMP50W 2x12" combo which sounded delicious as well.

Chances are he was using one of the preamps for distortion, basically feeding a preamp simulator into a real valve preamp. That's one way to make it sound like ass. They suck if you don't take the time to learn how to make it balance out well and work with the amp, not against it. I've been using the Boss GT stuff for years; I can get better tones out of it than using single pedals, most times. Most other players I've seen with them make them sound horrible.

Aye and easier to use. I like the tactile nature of having my effects infront me rather than some massive do it all.
