Awesome, that was well quick. I had to wait a month and I'm 40 miles from the factory ;-)

Have fun with it and remember on the OD channels, this things has buttloads of gain - the Gain knob at 12 o clock (green mode) and 9 o clock (orange and red) will be moooorrre than enough.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it - i think you'll be very happy.

You gotta love an amp that can cause massive tinnitus within hours of unpacking.

this poast will probably take a day and a half to load from all the pics, so be patient. haha.

anyway, the jvm is worth every penny. anybody considering getting one should get off that fence and head over to the guitar store to try one (if possible, i couldn't). overall, my expectations have been met and exceeded in some cases. my jag is notoriously thing on bass (so it translates well to the bassman), but this marshall gave it the treatment it needed quite well. having three modes on each channel basically quadruples the options i had on my other amp; brilliant. about the only feature not present between this and my TSL is the virtual power reduction, but the master volume knobs are a good replacement, no doubt. channel by channel, my thoughts:

clean: probably the best of marshall's efforts for a clean channel on a multi amp. the green will be my main choice here as it's got loads of headroom and can get downright spanky when cranked. it's no twin, but it was sparkly enough that i didn't even mess with the orange & red modes very much. check mate.

crunch: hello, plexi! thick and rich and not overblown at all. this channel with the first two modes would probably make a good amp all of its own. i've elected for the orange setting here.

od1: very jcm800 here. i keep this guy on orange mode as well, and it's all about as creamy and thick as i like. it will destroy your face and boil your nuts within their scrote.

od2: after your huevos have been brought to that boil, od2 melts your brain (back to the future style). this will be my lead channel so it's GOT to be on the red mode for me. anybody who thinks this amp won't go metal is fuckin crazy. i wouldn't buy one if i were in a death metal band cos you can that sound without spending this kind of money, though. just scoop the mids, crank the gain, pump the bass on your ibanez. but i digress. . .

i mainly used the marshall cab to run the tonal gamut, but you bet your ass i hooked up the celestion-loaded fender cab along with it in the end (hence my skull still rattling, an hour later).

so here's the pics. . . fenders included. i didn't include any other guitars, but i'll do that another time when i re-do my wiki page.

I wish my brother woud send his old Marshall 50 (73 or 74) watter with one cabinet so I can really keep the whole area awake at night. Christ that thing was cool. We had a full stack seperating our beds. You couldn't be in the bedroom with the guitar or there would be feedback! Even a Bronco was immense with that thing, although his '67 Strat sounded pretty cool.
