I like the possibilities. And the engineering and design of it attracts me too

I have a 15 watt combo, but I think it's all hardwired. Saying that, I realise I have access to friends' combo amps who I can hijack and rock the fuck out of. I'll just whack the TT in the sexy gig bag and go walking about, blowing minds one by one, without waking up the neighbours. YES.

The music I play has loads of different sections and styles. I need at the very least four sounds to play it - Bright Clean, Light Crunch, Crunch and Heavy Crunch add to that a solo boost and a warm clean tone and that's the lot.,

I love my mid eighties Marshall Studio 15. All tubes, 15 watts, 1 12, 1 balanced and 1 unbalanced direct out, headphone jack and it sounds superb.
If you need a shitty friend, I'm here for you.

i've loved my 15w fender pro jr. for all its tube love since i brought it home. it's a very simple amp, but also very fun. only thing i wish it had would be a speaker out.

Dude, that's a 10 minute fix.

Cut the amp's speaker cable in half, drill hole for speaker jack socket in casing. Solder amp-end of the cable to the jack socket. Solder speaker end of the cable to a mono 1/4" jack.

Plug in the internal speaker when you want to use that, plug up an ext. speaker lead and cab when the mood takes you (obviously checking impedance and wattage suitability).

If it's not good enough for you I will try my hardest to get it off your hands. It might be hard, but I'm sure we can pull through. I'd take the bullet for you Hurb, don't worry man.

Ha, I was kidding but that's a very gentlemanly offer Hurb, thank you!

If it wasn't for the fact I have to do shit like GO TO SPAIN I'd probably have saved up money by now, but I keep spending all my wages as I get them. I needs to get me some overtime (read: working after school).

is there an easy way to do this so that the speaker is engaged when something isn't plugged into the new jack and then goes silent when something is?

Yeah, you can get switching sockets that'll switch the output to what you're plugging in. I'll ask my dad the proper name for em, he put one in a little combo for me years ago.

sweet. i've plugged it into a cab before. . . the speaker has standard speaker wiring on one end, and the other is a 1/4" that plugs in underneath the amp. i am able to plug a speaker cable in there that way, but i'm always concerned with fumbling around and fucking something up.

Fair play, guv. For obvious reasons (that I'm highlighting more for other interested types than yourself), the amp would need to be turned off when swapping the load (speaker) it's going into, or you may be needing a new transformer in the amp.
