Agreed. putting the input jack on the back just sounds like an absolutely horrible idea. Those back plates look a little wonky though too... it looks like you just took a normal strat plate and took a couple bites out of it in random spots.Mike wrote:yeah, I think that was a really, really bad call.

have you all forgotten about the contourz>?!?!?!?!
when the jack is in it doesn't even sit at the same level as the body.
look at the bottom countour
and imagine it on your leg, as if you are playing sitting down.
its stick outs like a jaggie.
standing its the same way.
the only way it does interefere is if you are haveing an airheads moment.

OK, so its all done,
strung up, intoation is set, action is fantastic, it sounds really good.
BUT!!!
i made a 25 1/2 scale neck but i souted the body for a 24 scale( i gots shortscalez on my mind.....)
but anywho, i spent about 6 hours yesterday puting small shims in the neck pocket and movin the bridge back as far as it would go( which means that there are visibly filled holes and an open spot by the trem, which don;t look too bad but its still annoying, i figure since i fucked up and since he painted everything that he shouldn't have then i will only charge him 450.00 for everything
i went against what i said about the headstock.
as it turns out none of the strings touch and its really cool cuz it does a cascading effect past the nut.
i played it for practice last ngiht and the jack doesn't touch my stomouche, townzends stomouch or tracys.
its actually a bit too perfectly placed.
it sounds sooooooo goood with a bit of overdrive or just straight clean,
the p-90s are tru preformers.

That's fucking impressive man. You certainly know how to innovate, and it definitely pays off.
One suggestion I have is that you get yourself a proper headstock decal because your work is definitely something to show off, that's the only part of that guitar that's not doing you any justice! I reckon the inlays look really good, and that neck looks good enough to eat. The controls on the body have such a seamless look to it, whoever bought that guitar is going to love it.

i had to move the bridge back about half an inch, then move the saddles all the way back
and then put some shims in the neck pocket(not the normal kind either) to add about a LIL over 1/8 of an inch,
i hate the way it looks.
if it had been like i planned this guitar would be about 800.00 even
but becuz of that im only making him pay about 400.00-450.00
which is still a badass deal i think, no one really noticed as much as me, but then again i made it so therefor i look for the smallest of mistakes.

i made a pickguard,
its rather intersting and it hides all the mistakes perfectly and at the same time it actually looks a million tims better, it went from a schecter looking body to a hagstrom looking body.
i can;t take pics right now cuz he has it, he picked it up today, he seemed thrilled about it and called me when he got home to tell me that he liked it more than his am ash strat(thank god) so i think he is really please with it, cuz honestly all mistakes on it are cosmetic, even if you consider the color or style, as long as its functional and works well.
i dunno, i told him about the shorscale so he might be commin round these parts.
