The other day i got an old Transistor radio from the thrift store for 1 buck. I bought it because it has an old Germanium Transistor in it. I figured i could use it somehow.
i'd like to put it in my russian big muff to see how it sounds, does anyone know which transistor i should replace, will it work at all?

Well, probably not. One, most old germs were PNP, which most BMP use NPN. Second, germs have a lower gain than silicon transistors, so they are usually not going to be as "muffy" as what is in there.
There might be a way to use those old Germs as diodes, I remember seeing an article about doing that once. That might sond kool.
