It's this thing you put between the amp and speakers so you can turn your toob amp up high, giving you nice poweramp overdrive without being insanley loud.

It basically reduces the power between your amp and speaker. So you can run a hotter signal at lower volumes. Basically its a way of getting cranked power tube distortion at bedroom levels. Also handy for recording.
