fretman's mustang build

Post by Aug »

Not sure if I'm gonna wiki a mustang build or not, but I might...

anyway, I glued the two pieces together and will let the glue cure for 36+ hours. By Thursday, I should be able to get started.

Hi Zoinks - I wanted a 3rd pickup for variety. I'll likely do a JB Jr in the bridge, a Dimarzio Virtual Vintage in the neck, and something a little more oddball, perhaps a lipstick tube, in the middle.

Aug - words can't express! I'm floored.

Awesome... it'll look like the stang with 3 pickups that the guy from Blur rocked in the "coffee and tv" vid.

First rate as always, Aug.

I wish I could do that. I would build a Musicmaster mandolin. Saga has discontinued their mini Tele kits. I would have an easier time buying a Ford Pinto at this point than an electric Mandolin. I guess I better learn to fish.

Looks great! Are the pickups at a slight angle? or a full angle? Great job. Going to make a great guitar! Can't wait to see it done.

I directly copied the angle from the original mustang.

The middle pickup doesn't look centralised, look at measurements A and B:

Please tell me that's just me.

I think that was just a Musicmaster with another pickup put in, no bridge pup:
