Twang-banger in the rear for a tele tone
jazzy in the middle. I may end up buying a Hot for Jazzy pup. For now I'm using one out of Aug's drawer cause it's free.
Duncan Alnico Pro II flat pole neck pup. I can't wait!

in my opinion olympic white with a brown tortoise pickguard would be uber sexy and not flashy what so ever.
You're right. That would look tame, classy and sweet. For some reason, I feel that I must go with desert sands and parchment with black covers. I think that would look even more tame and different yet. I also bought mint pickgaurd material just for kicks to see what that would look like against desert sands. We'll see......

I bet a one-pickup guitar with a Jazzy pup in the middle would sound AMAZING. Maybe you could make the mint into a second pickguard for a more contemporary pickup configuration so you can go from whacky to classy?

Yes, that is classic "colour", but on this one, we're gonna do something a bit different and much tamer. You're gonna have to trust. Wait til the end, your gonna piss yourself... you'll see.

*apparently* drum sander attachments weren't built to work @22,500 RPM on a table router. :?

No, and I'll tell ya why. I don't like things that are too flashy. I like just a little flash. I figured this body shape is wild enough as it is and would way too much if it was a bright color. I'm not a lead player and I mostly play country. I think I would look ridiculous stumming a chord on a metal guitar. Did I over explain that enough?
Yea, Dave likes guitars with shitty finishes... He was the only one in the entire world that didn't agree with my choice to strip the shitty finish from my bronco and refinish it.

I am still not clear on how to do the Desert Sand. The closest thing on RR is Blonde unless you're going to do dyes or tints. I am curious because I have one to paint that color.

I think I am going with this company but it is hell to get ahold of them. Not all of these colors are available in nitro aerosols, but there are a few in the DS range. I figure the jury is kind of out on the exact shade, and I can control darkness by how many layers I use. My guitar still has it in the control cavities, so I can keep checking back. It's not a sexy color, although fleshy. But the whole period thing appeals. And I am going to have enough other colors I am not going to overlook any.

dude, aug i did the same thing except it was a smaller piece, it lasted all of...2 seconds, i don't even think i touched the wood yet and it shattered and disintegrated.
i had a beveled edge table router piece come out the other day and it shit you not, it was spinning so fast that it floated up hung in mid air for about a second and then floated back down before it hit the table and spun off in another direction.
it was the craziest thing i have ever seen, ever had it happen to you, or heard about it.?

WTF!

hell no! I've only had a 3-4 instances where a bit flew out of the router. They all flew out fast enough to thank god I didn't just then die. Usually, the bit will hit a wall or something before I even realize it's gone.

Delicate swooping arcs, and that's just the beer. That contour ain't bad, neither. Pro tummy contour.

I set up a Park PCS bike stand today to start painting in my driveway. I think I can get more done outside. My wife isn't crazy about the nitro fumes. I CAN'T WAIT. My garage looks like Fender east (not Far East).
