Mike's Orange Tiny Terror Sample

Post by Mike »

Hi all,

I pulled my old Lead12 Amplifier Chassis out of my old practise amp and made it into an 8ohm, 1x10" combo for my Tiny Terror. Then I recorded a sample because I love you guys:

Thanks to this little fing, we are amp brothers!

Have you tried it with your big speakers mike? noob question..does it make it louder? And second question, what does class A mean? does it make the amp more awesome?

Awesome demo, and you even played Under the Bridge! You did a pretty decent job of it too, so hats off. I must say the cleaner demos of both you and Hurb are the ones that have me most interested, but it sounds like when cranked up it really lives up to its name of being a "terror", and it certainly seems like you can get some very aggressive tones out of it. I seriously can't wait 'til I have one of these.

Oooh, sounds absolutely amazing. Haha, I love how on the back of the amp is the "don't put this in a wheelie bin" sign...

another great demo, the cleans sound so beautiful, and with that extra twang of the 'tellycaster' it's even better, i'd get one straight away if i had the extra dough.

Thanks for listening dudes, I really liked Hurb's sample too - interesting how different the sondz we were getting because of the singles vs. buckers - When you're using this thing with humbuckers it gets REALLY dirty at the top end of the gain dial as you heard. Such a fun amp to play. In the middle there there's some great jangle and a really great overdrive sound that's going to be on some SellCrazy records for sure.

Hurb, I played it through my 2x12" which I use for rehearsal and small gigs when I got it and it sounded great too, perhaps a bit fuller (you're going to hear more projection with more drivers) - you could play a gig with a 1x12" I think, there's a lot of mileage in that 15 Watt setting Volume knob.

donko - i have a copy I can email you or something if you want.

heavium - the cleans was perhaps what surprised me the most after playing it for ages - Orange are rightly reknowned for their overdrive sound but their often bagged like Marshall for dark lifeless cleans whereas this thing just sparkles.

Class A means that the tubes work on both the top and bottom portions of the waveform, rather than a Class AB PushPull which has a tube (or pair) for the top of the wave and a tube or pair for the bottom.

They yield a more classic rock sound and saturate in a Voxy Orange kind of midrange chimey way when you push the power tubes (as you can in the TT).

The TT is checking itself out in the second picture for sure.

The cleans sound pretty amazing in Hurbs demo, possibly what attracts me at the moment to the amp more. I'll listen to your demo when I get home Mike. I've been enjoying my second weekend in a row where I've stayed away from the internet and not had a chance to download it yet.

Nice one Mike, great demo as ever.
The amp sounds great - like the previous demos, and again the clean sounds sound very sweet.
It's nice to have different demos of the same thing so you can really get a feel for what you can get out of it.

great - that sample ruled. so now im gonna have to get a Tiny Terror. and also some sorta cab to go with it. but to pay for it i'll have to stop going out and cancel plans to get my own flat. so i'll become a gross stinking social recluse, and my girlfriend, already fed up with all my spending on guitar crap, will up and leave me.

thanks a bunch Mike!

The speaker outputs mike, there's 2 8ohms and 1 16ohm, am i right in thinking you could hook up speakers to all outputs at once?

I apologise for the noob questions i simply know fuck all about amps

Nope, the transfomer has two taps so you can do the following.

1 8 ohm cabinet/speaker - plug into either of the 8 ohm sockets
1 16 ohm cabinet/speaker - plug into the 16 ohm socket
2 16 ohm cabinets/speakers - when using both plug into both 8 ohm sockets.
