The dial is, not the actual pot. It's just that to remove the relevant board to be able to get at Soldertown underneath, you gotta take the dial and nut off each pot. And the volume dial on the clean channel is stuck fast, and I can't get it off for love nor money. I might try ear-dropper'ING some solvent onto the shaft, see if that helps.

Ok, so it turns out I wanted to cut C12, not C13. C13 is a treble bleed off for the 2nd higher gain Ultra mode. Hopefully it doesn't effect the 1st mode, because that's all I'd use.

SAMPLE

Treb & pres - 2
Bass & mid - 5
Volume - 1

1) "Stock" - chords, gain at 5
2) C12 mod - chords, gain at 5
3) "Stock" - lead, gain at 10
4) C12 mod - lead, gain at 10

It seems to cut more high end on lower gain settings, and have no effect higher up the pot. Iiiiiinteresting. Not as big a difference as I would have hoped, but nevermind, it's all good.

I found it very barely noticeable on that sample.

Depends on how good your speakers/ears are, I guess. The mp3 compression has knocked a bit of the top end of it, too.

It's real tonegeek stuff, but the shared EQ is such a load of bollocks, I was prepared to do minor tweaks to get the balance a little better.

I can hear it, I have good headphones and a Marshall ear.

Seems a lot warmer to me, less harsh trebs and a bit more chunk. Wicked.

That's a good point actually, there's stuff I've recorded that sounds horrible on my hi-fi speaker but fairly good on my iPod headphones.
