Not only does that look Danelectro, but I swear they made a pedal also based on an old Cadillac style car, but I can't for the life of me find a picture of it.

Needless to say, it is a really cool design. It's more novelty than functional clearly, but that never stopped you making that retard guitar! :D

it's not actually a bad thing that it looks Danelectroish right?... that just means they might hire me for the company in the future :)

No, I think it's awesome, I just had a feeling I'd seen it before.

And yeah, Euan found it:

After seeing that again, I realised yours is very simplistic in comparison, and if you can get it to look as good as that render then it'll be really cool.

I like this one better than the Dano. The Dano is kind of silly looking.

That's not done in Strata, is it? It is a nice render. I also like that it appears hovers over the floor--it needs to follow the foot around. Very clever.

Do you have to think about materials in terms of strength and durability, or just appearance? That's where I would get lost.

Freaking sweet.

You're so right that pedals look boring aesthetically. Yours owuld be a big seller too!
everybody likes hot cars, old dudes, young dudes, babes, and hermaphrodites can all agree on 50's-60's shaped car type devices in retro colors. I prefer the bluey to the reddy.

Goddamn, in 3 years you'll be able to get anything you need from a shortscale poaster.

"Golly, I need a tremelo..."

*4 shortscaers stumble over eachother with plans*

"Dang, my fuckin body done cracked, i need a new one just like it!"

AUG.

"dang, I havent heard anything really sickening lately."

And then you can send me free stuff. This sounds like a plan.

I CREATED A MONSTER!

The pedal was made with an Rapid Prototyping machine and cost me $91 to make. I bought the paint at an automotive paint shop in Downey ($17 for the metallic ocean turq, $10 for primer), and the chrome was also done with spray. For those of you who wish to chrome out your guitars with spray paint, I DO NOT recommend it! It's a bitch to work with. You have to warm it up to get a smooth coat and it takes days to dry as opposed to hours. For a glossy clear coat, I used the Killer Cans brand. It's one of the glossiest clear coats in a can except downside is that it's $35 a pop.

If I die tomorrow it will be from paint/catalyst primer/superglue/turpentine inhalation. My lungs hurt but my heart loves Ocean Turquoise :) (color change) It looks like Lake Placid Blue on the computer but in real life it has much more of a green tint to it.

It's supposed to be a tremolo... we didn't have the parts onhand so it's an echo/delay now. A pretty sweet one too.

Sublimedo did the wiring/soldering. Poor guy burnt himself a couple of times, so I told him once I get accepted into portfolio next year (upper division classes) he can have it. We got a pretty cool team going on, he does the electronics and I do the exteriors n all the prettyfications

Wish me luck I turn it in today and fear damage during the demonstration

See... girls can play with the boys too

The render was done from the photoworks option in Solidworks v. 2006. We have to choose the material based on what the product needs. Since a pedal is meant to be stepped on, I chose ABS plastic because of its strength, but most importantly, u gotta make it look cool!
