Over here they're extremely expensive and they're just not great amplifiers. The Master Volume pot thing is hilarious. Installing a Linear taper pot for a Master Volume is retarded, and the claim that Fender did it so that when you turn the amp to "2" in the shop it sounds super loud and that you'll be inclined to buy it thinking it will have lots more in the locker is frankly, ridiculous.
For between £490-£550 retail it has a poor stock speaker, and an unuseable drive channel. I just find that slightly boggling - I think the fact it says "Fender " on it is half the allure for some people. It's your money though after all and if you're happy with it that's all that matters, I just don't like them. A Peavey Classic 30 would be my choice if you're looking for a clean combo amp with no useable drive sounds.
yeah i see what you mean. the linear taper thing is fucking dumb as hell. but hey, whatever works for them. theres a bunch of mods you can do to this amp but all im gonna do is switch the pot out and change a resistor or something here and there. the amp sounds good, i need something super loud and this fits the bill. whats weird is i like the gain channel. i use a low gain channel and boost it but i think it sounds cool.
i wanted to run my rig in stereo so this will allow me to do it! i used to have a peavey classic 30 but got tired of the sound after 4 years. it was a good amp but my bassman is so much better.

Good Score! I think these sound great. They have thier own sound, different from a marshall, more old skool. A marshall can't sound as good on a clean channel as this amp does. I love marshalls, don't get me wrong, but no clean channel love for em.
i've got a deville, but it doesn't have a master volume control. i guess it's different than the deluxe. i really like it, it's not the best sounding amp in the world, but i only paid $500 for it. i'm actually thinking about either changing the speakers or selling it and buying a bassman or a 90s super-amp.

yeah they do have their own sound. gripes aside, the clean channel is awesomely fat and punchy. the drive channel is useable for me. its thick and kinda crappy sounding and i dig it. i use it with my thinline and mim tele and the single coils sound great through it on a low drive setting. my pedalswork great with it too. i like it. for $375 in mint condition, and its the american made version, cant go wrong.

i enjoyed my deville a lot.
i mostly only care about the clean sound on an amp anyway, and it was nice. i get my overdrive via pedals, and then just used the amp distortion occasionly to crap out the sound for effect. it was fun. got stolen.
