a good compressor can be essential. it cant be used as an effect really, but it can improve the sound in an impressive way, not very obvious at first, but after a couple of weeks of use, turning off the compressor is just impossible. you wont believe how much better your tremolo sounds after you've put a compressor in the chain.Doog wrote:I guess it's something for funk and country players to wet their panties about really.

I actually agree with riotshield, it's great if you're doing something chordy or elaborate on a clean sound that you want to stand out too. I'm going to buy the Behringer Dynacomp rip off at some point.
As for the 16 second delay, I have no idea what they were going for with that - I mean who would buy it? There's much better loopers around that are easier to use and much cheaper. Crazy EHX fools.

It's a specialist market, but I'm sure it appeals to some people, maybe more in the electronica/droney/ambient field. I think a lot of it has to do with the intuitive nature of 'em- people loooooove sliders and dials over menus and such, regardless of the space disadvantages.Mike wrote: As for the 16 second delay, I have no idea what they were going for with that - I mean who would buy it?
I know I'd use it if I had one.

The headrush, RC-2,DD-20 and DL4 all do looping without menus.
Okay, scratch that. I'd still say the EH pedal was simpler to use than some of others, though.

to be honest, those EHX loopers have some features that the others dont have and/or have better quality in others. i had to chance to play around with the 16sec delay and it was very interesting, but u couldnt really make use of that, especially live, and more especially for that price. for example the tempo change feature was almost flawless compared to the clipping of boss rc-2series, and some other things aswell. the 2880 also is great but who would pay that money just for the fun of playing around with it, its not really usable unless u want to do improvisation style things.
