those of you that own a whammy or older digitech whammy-like pedals (hurb ?) .. what kind of adapter do they need ?
i might buy this digitech modulator pedal but the guy says it comes without an adapter.. not a biggie since i use the visual sound onespot anyway but he says they don't work with a standard 'boss style' barrel plug but with line6 style ones and they need a 1200mA instead of 900mA so will that be a problem if i just get a little visual sound adapter cable they make for line6 pedals and just put it in a daisychain with the onespot ?
also.. would you say 60 euros is a good price for a digi modulator ?
this one:
The power supply for the whammy is made only by digitech,. and they'll charge you a fortune for it. I lost mine's and I'm having to wait until I've been working for a few weeks before I can replace it. I think www.thomann.de do it for fairly cheap though.
it needs 9v and 500ma. i imagine that that one will be the same. just make sure the supply is what it requires(it will be wrote on the pedal) and it will be fine.
The Whameez won't run off a "normal" pedal power supply- it needs AC not DC.
That's the one. When I told the guy in my local electronics shop what I wanted (9V, AC, 1.3A), he looked at me, kinda stunned. He then went and asked someone else. The other guy he asked came over and aked me "This is for your whammy pedal then, is it?" Needless to say, I was pretty impressed by his encyclopeadic knowledge of stuff, as well as his Sherlock-Holmesic powers of deduction.
9VAC, 750mA
US and Canada: PS750
Japan: PS750-100
Europe: PS750-220
UK: PS750-240
Power Consumption:
5 Watts
Dimensions:
8.15"(w) x 8.30(d) x 2.85"(h)
Net Weight:
2.9lbs (1.32kg)
Shipping Weight:
4.2lbs (1.9kg)
so i guess the PS750 is the one i need after all, thomann has it.
i'll ask the guy who's selling it to check out what it says on the actual pedal tho to make sure.
my xp100's PS750 is 820mA, but it broke so my whammy is set to "macgyver" at the moment. god bless that useless strain-relief hook they put on the back of these things.
good luck with your search, hope you find one.. the whole reason i never replaced the broken one was because it seemed like it'd be a pain in the ass to find it.
