Design-wise, what do you think?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

I monkeyed wifs it a bit. hope you don't mind. Free labor, right? I moved your curves around a little. I like the overhang A LOT. I also like how the lower horn juts out like a Dano. I suggest that your neck butt and guard follow the same curve. That even gives you more shredder frets (although the frets could stop at the usual point. I suppose that complicates the production). I like the flat side 3x3 and repeated the curves of the top of the body into the headstock. It's very surfy. You could call it the Don Ho. They could all use No or Ho, like Hojo, HoDown, etc.

There was a design movement (out of Cali) in the 60s called Googie. It was all diners, bowling alleys, and liquor stores. When you see retro fashion, it borrows heavily from that style. It's a blend of outrageous exaggeration, with curves and star spikes. Fairly clean and generally asymmetrical.

That looks immense, and is exactly what I meant by the headstock. WIN

I like it. I think in your rough scetch, the headstock is a bit undersized.

Draw another Please?!!

Oh. Duh! Of course. I don't know what the proper angles for max tone. I just matched the body. Sad that the brigge can't be angled that way. It's the wrong direction.

I just now got off the phone with dave, and I'm really hoping to be able to crank these out at about $700 USD, but, that's REALLY cutting it close. Would you guys be totally opposed to paying abit more?

Also, if you guys are serious about the leftys, I fully intend to have numbered neck plates...

euan will get M00001
lamp will get M00002
heavium will get M00003

(the "M" stands for Mercury.)

and I'm gonna build one for myself to hang in the shop, and it'll have M00000.

oh! that's right! Actually, now that I think about it...

ML00001 could be Mercury Lefty 00001
M00001 could be Mercury 00001

not sure, though...might be too much. We'll sort it out.
