Design-wise, what do you think?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

Here's what I have so far. The headstock probably looks like another existing model, but my point was to highlight the shape of the pickguard via the curve on the top. Materials are rosewood fretboard, maple neck. And it's to scale :)

Here's a pic in the room with a Disco Ball :)

that guitar looks gross as hell

doesn't anybody design with clay anymore? it's so much better than drawing if you don't know how to draw.

I think it'd look better with 3 straight lipsticks and a strat trem.

A lot of the design elements look like stuff taht's already out there. I suppose that's just bound to happen, especially if you're going for a retro vibe.

A lot of the design elements look like they were hit by the short bus on the way to school.

Dude, say what you have to say in a more constructive way, or bounce the fuck off.

Dude, I'll be damned if some fairweather poster is gonna step up in a thread with mad negativity and only negativity. We have had our differences, but this is OUR HOUSE. I would defend any of the regulars here the same. He can find a better way to criticize your work if he doesn't like it. I think we all can agree on that.

The Mercury will be much different then this guitar when it's done. This thing looks like crap, I think. The mercury is already done in my head and the lines and flow is real smooth (I think).

hahahah that's a Koll, he's an excellent builder. No offense but if you build a guitar even 1/4 as good as his, you'll be somewhere.

at least for now, I think key is simplicity. simple elecs, simple lines, etc...

We have a few assembly ideas that haven't been done yet (as far as I know)...I'm quite excited...and it's nice to see so many folks on here being so receptive and inviting...it means we're on the right track.
