Rewiring My Jag-Stang

Post by ElCapitan »

Well I've put the robroe on the single coil, but I've found the 3-way switch I ordered is too big for the mustang control plate. I'm gonna rewire the top switch neck - both - bridge and leave the switch for aesthetics. Malik, you're pretty good at this, how could I wire it?

He just said that his three way does not fit on the control plate. That was the original idea...

I'll knock something up later, but I think you'll find MumblyJoe's diagram works fine, if you just take out two of the pots and a switch.

Use the switching schematic Mumblyjoe made where one 3-way is neck-both-bridge, and the other controls the bridge humbucker series-tap-parallel.

Didn't we have the tap vs. split debate before? same thing.

Coiltap uses less windings the pickup, coilsplit uses one of the coils in a 'bucker.

Doog's right, they are different things. Tap is something you can do to a single coil, you can't split a single coil.

Mumbly Joe's diagram is really difficult to understand if i'm trying to have no second series - whatever - parallel switch and only one volume, one tone.
i'm gonna have to restring it now cause i've got a practice in 2 hours and keep it stock for the time being. damn.
