Design-wise, what do you think?

Painting? Routing? Set-up tips? Or just straight-up making a guitar from scratch? Post here, and post pics!

Aye, I thought that was the plane. But his PG has no holes, his body has no holes.

And is that neck just a demo, or is that really going to be a one off neck?

It's not a real neck either, it's a placeholder.

thanks for all the kind words and encouragement, everyone! ((aug))

I just spoke with USA Custom Guitars, and Rob isn't willing to change his tooling (even for a 100 neck order) to move the truss adjustment to the headstock.

At Catalina Guitars, they're minimum order is $500 per neck, and they build those one at a time...however, Gary is going to hook me up with a friend of his who has necks made somewhere in Canada.

You guys have any other ideas? We need to spend less than $100 per neck, and will most likely (for now) need 8-10 necks per month.

What truss rod are you interested in? I forgot to add that in to me factor (again, not that I'm moving forward, just doing some math). I think I could still be at $70 per, depending on wood. I'd have to come up with swome money fast though, like $7k for everything new. Shit.

hell if I know...whatever goes in a fender mustang neck, I guess...only reverse it and add a bullet truss nut.

Garry just emailed me, and this is what he had to say:
Thaddeus,

I checked into my other sources of information on this and found that the
door is closing.
My friend is dealing with GMW Guitar works. GMW are really focusing on their
own instruments and he says they are not taking on new projects - He's been
trying to get them to do some. Other than that, I only have USA Custom that
someone else suggested.

I loved the look of your guitar - I'm sorry I shut you off on the volume - A
monthly volume of ten is not really out of court. We could handle that
monthly level, given some work on tooling at our shop. If you want to put a
short spec together for me, I would be interested in getting a quote to you.

Thank you
Garry

I think robert(original) is pretty busy though. He's in school. Aug, maybe you could try b. hefner? The site is down at the moment I think, but I remember someone on jag-stang.com getting a Jag-Stang made there, and the neck looked really really good.

You're planning on eventually making the necks yourself right?
