Those Baja telecasters are one of the most amazing things I have ever played. They are fantastic instruments.

True with many things, such as Telecaster in general, moving to SS.org from Jag-Stang.com and of course, hitting the A.

I think I've decided that buying a Squier or a Fender Standard isn't really smart. I should just save and save and hopefully buy a Baja Tele at Christmastime.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Standards. A Tele is a Tele, but I doubt the Baja will ever need upgrading.

I know. I just don't want to buy a standard and then think about a Baja.

Blue agave is what they make tequila from, so that was a cool name for that shade of Mexican Telecaster.
I wonder if they sold well or not, I always hated Midnight Blue and Red Wine but it seems people like them. I thought when Fender went with lighter colors they would sell a bunch, but then almost right away they went back to darker colors.

I don't like any of the metallics - block pastel shades I would have prefered. the White is the only option on the standards I like these days - there's no Blonde which is pretty dumb.

It's Poplar, that's why or atleast the old ones were. It's not attractive wood. Also a lot of it has green mineral streaks. Its a good wood for building Fender type guitars but it's almost always finished in a solid color.
