musicmaster bass amp

Post by matte30is »

Got it out of the shop tpday......and with my tele it sounds freaking amazing. Also noodled around with my target distortion pedal and its a pretty badass distortion pedal. Just in the short time I've played it I think I like it better than boss ds-1,pro co rat, nyc big muff and other pedals I've had in the past,,,,,could be that I'm playing it thru an amazing amp too.....

I dunno. I'll give it time my friends.

I'll try to get a demo up in the next few weeks.

Yeah thats the beauty of a simple tube amp......they take pedals ever so well!

How's the low end out of your Musicmaster? Are you cranking it for overdrive naturally or keeping the volume a bit lower?

Told ya dude, it's a fucking lush amp isn't it? Beautiful complex cleans and a lovely warm throaty overdrive when pushed.

Really glad you got it up and running again. Did the shop sort it or your Dad in the end? You have a free amp tech now either way, you lucky bugger!

Playing with tone on 3 and volume at 5-6 it reminds me of classic tom petty tone. It really doesent have much of a bottom end to it.(i dont see how this thing was used for bass) At 10 it breaks up but its just a nice warm overdrive sound, hardly any sustain at all. The thing reminds me of the sounds you'd hear out of an old am car radio playing 50's music.

I kept it at 5 volume with the distortion box.

I'm not in a band or anything so this is a great little bedroom amp.
