tele-guar bass project

Post by dawnofzion »

Now that I am somewhat winding down on my hyper-sonic build, I decided to do a photoshop of a bass i have had in my mind for awhile. This will be my next project. A modified jaguar body (shortened top horn), P-bass pickup, Telebass headstock. It will be LPB color with mint guard. Rosewood fretboard with MOP inlays....possible block inlays. I am kind of digging this combo of all the basses.

I'm pretty sure Fender Japan made a bass with a Tele body, but here is one from Shine

 Id prefer it painted with a headstock but the shape looks good! Is that a shortscale? The neck looks shorter...

Higher res with the pickup covers on.
Shine guitars is the house brand of Saein Musical Instrument Company of Incheon, Korea.

Saein is best known as the OEM for Gibson's Epiphone label. They also OEM for Ibanez and Peavey guitar brands

I've got a Shine Telecaster. £120 job with an ash body. The neck was quite pish but the guitar itself sounded good.

I may add a bridge jazz bass pickup as well with the pbass pickups.

that's probably the way to go.
you should also consider a tortoiseshell pickguard. i think lake placid blue with matching headstock is one of the few custom colors tort works with.

Are you gonna try to gather a full size tracing?

yeah I'm gonna try and find one...but I may end up having to find a high res. picture of one, scale it and trace is up in my cad program. This is the method I used on my super-sonic and it turned out ok....so that may be my only option.

i dig it, you got some good ideas flowing around up there and the know how to make it all happen.
i think personally i would throw some switches in there, just to make it more jag-esq.
