Someone plugged the wrong PSU into this Boss CH-1 Mk 2 chorus

Yeah, it's on my Favorites (and probably Cowbell's) but they only had the Mk. 1. It did help though.Progrockabuse wrote:you tried this site?

They have the same 8V/4.5V power circuit, so I dug out the carbonised bit of the PCB, stuck an ordinary NPN transistor in and got sound but no chorus. Found no 5V on the chorus chip, located a dead 5V regulator, patched a big old one in and got chorus. I'll be down to Maplins at lunchtime to buy a micropower 5V regulator (with the wrong pinout), then I can stuff it all back in the box tonight. What threw me to start with was that one output is just buffered input, so after I replaced the regulator I still had no chorus - until I switched to the other output.
So, what should I charge my son's schoolmate for the repair?
