You have too many fucking guitars.Sammy wrote:I like to use leather straps, which can prove abit expensive for somone with next to no money, and straps for 13 guitars is a hard task, so I need to be able to take them off one and put them on another. And I know it begs the question, how can somone with so many not afford straps, lol. It's a family thing.Mike wrote:+1.Doog wrote:I never really take the straps off guitars anyways.

The quality of the screw, the length, and the size of it's "ribs" or whatever they are called. I know that the 2 times I have used dunlops they have stripped out but the schallers have never once done that. The schallers are like 25 USD and the dunlops are like 20 USD so I will pay the 5 extra for that security.euan wrote:Whats the difference between one wood screw and another. Really the strap lock hasn't faild, the wood has.

FUCKING AGREED!!!!Sloan wrote:Here's the deal...
Dunlops stick out really far and seem more likely to strip out. If you have a strap that has a big hole on it (think Ralph Marlin) it can still come out of the part that attaches to your strap. When I had the Dunlops for a while, I eventually went back to regular strap pegs.
Schallers have a nut that you can fucking tourque down on your strap - trust me that shit ain't comin' off.
Conclusion:
SCHALLERS WIN

what the hell are you talking about? i use schallers with any guitar strap imaginable. i use them with ernie ball straps, levy's straps, other random ones, whatever. i think youve got it backwards. the dunlop ones you have to like force into the hole, and if the strap hole isnt big enough you gotta cut it a little.euan wrote:Dunlop Dual Strap locks
End pin is fastened to the strap and locks into the strap pin. Unlike the Schallers you can still use a normal strap with the guitaer.
schaller has a washer and a nut you screw down. best straplocks evar.

Look at those parts. See the part on the far right, your strap fastens onto that tne you lock the two washers around it. Of course you can use any fucking strap with it. If the strap can fit on any strap button then it will fit on the end pin.
The benefit over the Schallers is that once you put on the locking strap button, you can only use the strap you've attach the locking mechanism.

all of my guitars have schaller straplock pins on them. there have been occasions were i have left my straplock equipped strap at home and had to borrow a normal strap. it worked fine. dunlops have no advantage over the schallers.
